What have we created!

One of the best things about doing animation is the ability to give life to characters. What one day is a doodle in a sketchpad can quickly become a character that can think, act and feel, and that ability to create life is a fantastic feeling for animators (who are somewhat egotistical as a rule).

Sometimes, characters go even further than that. Sometimes you get to see your characters take on a life outside of the cartoon they were made for – they become cuddly toys or action figures or theme park rides. This has happened to us twice recently, and we always get very excited about seeing these real manifestations of figments of our imaginations.

Here’s Bailey, one of our regular characters from Barking Heads dog food, as a cuddly toy. (Hint: you can win one of these furry little fellas on the BH website)

And even more worrying, here is a real life version of our P4D superhero!  (Or alternatively, here’s a man who was clearly looking for an excuse to don a blue body suit and wear his underpants on the outside)
