New Website: Student Shopping

As young business people ourselves, it’s extra rewarding to be developing websites for other young people in business. Alex Ludlam only graduated last year, but he’s already built a very viable business that is supported by The Princes’ Trust; hosting the largest student retail events in the UK.

Student Shopping UK aims to revolutionise the retail and social experience for students across the UK, and currently hosts events that get upwards of 20,000 attendants in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Stoke-on-Trent, Canterbury and Nottingham.

Alex wanted his website to be structured and stylish, without patronising the students or using tired cliches. It was also important to him that the site contained a lot of information and content without looking cluttered or complicated.

Inspired by the branding colour of purple, we used a strong colour scheme throughout the site, dividing the different sections in to different colours from the start for easy navigation. The site uses WordPress CMS, and includes functionality such as polls, lots of integration with various social media, a countdown and one heck of a database.
